We walk the grounds see the attractions and take part in interactive exhibits including the Dodge Thrill Ride and the Ford Performance Mustang experience. We go back stage behind the scenes and gain accesses to the exclusive VIP elevated buyer’s lounge. Finally we experience the thrill of witnessing a record breaking 2.7 million dollar winning bid for the last Chevy C7 Corvette in history!
I had wanted to attend this televised car auction ever since watching it on TV years ago. I have always loved cars. Like many Father’s day cars shows are an important part of the beginning of summer. There is something wonderful about giving in to a day where fantasy meets reality. The Barrett Jackson Auction is much more than a car auction. Its a whole fuel filled experience. The nations top performance car builders are present giving demonstrations. Driving simulators and stock car pit crew stations make the show interactive and fun for all ages. Not to mention all the fabulous cars! There was something extra satisfying about seeing the same cars I saw in person sold live on the auction block on national TV.
The show was held at Mohegan Sun in CT. The northeast auction has been held there since 2015. They also hold auctions in Las Vegas, Palm Beach Florida and in their home town of Scottsdale Arizona. For 47 years they have been setting records for high automobile values for sellers and an exciting atmosphere for collectors. The 2019 Barrett Jackson Car Auction at Mohegan Sun did not disappoint.
The jewel of the show was the auction for the last C7 Corvette ever made! in 2020 the Corvette will no longer have a forward engine but rather a mid engine. The car was presented by Steve Hill Vice President of General Motors. Both GM and Barrett-Jackson donated 100 percent of the proceeds to the Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation. A group who builds smart homes for our nations most injured veterans. The fundraising auction of 4 Corvettes from the 2019 final years brought a fever pith to the arena. Peaking with an amazing bidding war between multi millionaires raising 2.7 million dollars building 5 homes for this noble cause.

If you ever have the chance to attend I highly recommend the experience. It is a must do for car lovers. The ultimate car show. I could easily do this again next year for 2 full days. I find it funny I have been thinking about buying a Dodge Charger Hell Cat since I got home. Thank you to Dodge and Ford and most importantly to Matthew at Barrett-Jackson for helping with my last minute medial request.
