Thanks to customer feedback MGM Springfield has added some new additions.

1. Added six more promotional kiosks on the casino floor to help alleviate the lines.
2. Spanish 21 was added to the casino floor.
3. Increased the number of roulette tables on the gaming floor.
4. Morning five dollar minimums on some table games from 6 AM to 9 AM Monday through Friday.
5. Complimentary valet parking for Gold and life rewards members.
6. A new delectable weekend brunch at Calmar offering iconic brunch staples complemented by Italian classics and refreshing cocktails
7. Increase the selection of live music throughout the property. 25 performances this summer. The lobby bar is also to feature live music every Friday and Saturday.
8. MGM is partnered with greyhound to offer daily motorcoach services from extended markets including New York and Boston.
9. They move the start times for Roar comedy club from eight to 7:15 PM and from 10 PM to 945.
10. More signage on interstate 91 and 90 directing people to MGM.
11. Hired more cocktail waitresses!
12. Allegedly improving traffic flow in the garage during peak hours.
13. Doubling the number of video poker machines on the floor!
14. Added more $10 blackjack tables as well as let it ride poker and wargames to the floor.

They are still offering their super prize wheel $250,000 giveaway on Saturdays Mlife members must swipe their card at a promotional kiosk starting at six and be on property for the 11 o’clock name Drawing.
The schedule still the same as I last reported for their baseline promotions Monday you can swipe for your tier multiplier and earn credits all day.  Tuesday is your mystery multiplier day.   Wednesday’s guests can activate their winning Wednesday at any slot machine from 11 to 8 PM to win free play every 30 minutes.

There’s a lot of great comedy shows coming looks like Lewis Black will be visiting us soon along with Allonzo Bodden. Francis Ellis from barstool sports will be here for four performances at Roar April 25 26th and 27th.

MGM is launching their food truck Fridays. It’s launching the same weekend of the Kentucky derby so they’re calling it Derby de Mayo weekend!  It all kicks off at 11 AM Friday, May 3 with a performance by cover band feel good drift. There will be lawn games and food The trucks. The outdoor beer garden will be open for the first time this season outside of Tap. On May 4 at 4:30the grounds of Howard Street will transform into an outdoor viewing party for the Kentucky Derby!  Race will be broadcast live on a 330 square-foot marquis screen. Event is also to have live music and more food trucks.

Food truck Fridays will take place from 11 AM to 2:30 PM and will include a lot of fun looking trucks. I was surprised to see how big the list for May 3 was.  Looks like 11 food trucks will be on site including a Wahlburgers from Boston!  Say cheese from Wocster and Kona ice from Stamford Connecticut. Among many others. This really does sound delicious.

The gaming numbers were released on April 16 and it look like March was a very strong bond for MGM Springfield. They reported $25.7 million in gross gaming revenue which is up in 19% from February. The number is still below the pre-opening projections of $34.8 million a month. However with warmer weather approaching it’s certainly a step in the right direction. This combined with their aggressive promotional schedule and live music plan should bring in a good amount of new visitors. It should be reported that plain Ridge Park Casino had a $16 million month in March which is better compared to their 12.6 million in February. So we had some job coach at MGM Springfield the last couple of weeks we had five jobs cut last week in facilities and engineering departments.  Two more positions were eliminated this week. MGM Resorts International chairman and CEO Jim Murren announced Thursday that 250 jobs were eliminated across the company and that he expects another round of cutbacks in another few weeks.

You may remember that MGM called for $100 million of cuts and US payroll over the next two years.
